Photocatalytic reduction of CO2 –multitechnique studies of relevant components and processes

The goal of the project was to study photocatalytic reduction of CO2 using TiO2 catalyst functionalized with specially designed dye molecules. The catalytic reaction was supposed to be mediated by charge carriers created by the dye molecules upon illumination with visible light. This should be a significant progress as compared to the standard photocatalytic reactions with TiO2, where illumination with UV light is necessary.
